Who We Are
Our History
Niagara Peninsula Homes Inc. is an incorporated non-profit organization, governed by a community-based Board of Directors. The group was originally established in July 1980, under the sponsorship of Niagara College, to provide "housing support services" to non-profit and co-operative housing groups.
We quickly evolved into social housing development and community development consultants, overseeing the purchase and re-habilitation of older buildings.
We then went on to the construction of new buildings and provided property management, community development & adult education services to non profit and co-operative housing organizations in Niagara and Hamilton. From this time NPH has been responsible for the development of over 30 housing co-operatives providing housing to over 2,700 households in Niagara and Hamilton.
Property Management/Operational Services
In 1989 we initiated our Property Management/Operational Services division, in order to provide co-operatives in our area with a broad range of services under one umbrella. Since then we have provided full property management/ community development services to over 25 co-ops and non-profits. These services combined property management and community development services.
We have extensive knowledge of:
- buildings
- on going and preventative maintenance
- financial management
- board governance
- community development
- adult education
